The auricle piercing has recently become very popular among men and women. In fact, it is the second most popular ear piercing. Many people get this piercing as an alternative to an
ear lobe piercing for something different. The
auricle is a piercing of the ear cartilage that is located on the outside rim of the ear halfway between the top and bottom, hence the reason some people refer to it as a
rim piercing.
Does the auricle hurt more than an earlobe piercing since it goes through cartilage? Even though I don't have one of these piercings, my guess is that it is a little more painful. I know my pinna piercing hurt more than my lobes and it goes through the cartilage of the ear also.
